The American Open Currency Standard
Residents of historic Cape Cod Bay, Massachusetts haven’t traded sea shells in a long time but they will start doing just that again with the release of the new CCC Shells (Cape Cod C Shells).
[“It is the mission of Cape Cod C Shells to provide the public with a means of keeping wealth within the community. We believe a bartering system should be comprised of both merchants and consumers. We help keep the wealth within the area by providing a tangible means of trade and reducing the risk of world economic pressures on our community. When these goals unite, a common neighborhood tie is created.”

Long-time Banstable resident, Bob Barker, is kicking off the launch of this initiative with the introduction of the first in the series of C Shells in the form of a one ounce copper round. Drawing on inspiration from the Wampanoag tribe who aided the first colonists in the earliest days of the Plymouth Colony, Mr. Barker decided to honor the tribe’s tradition of utilizing sea shells as a medium of trade. In this case, however, the “C” stands for currency.
For a limited time, CCC Shells are being made available by advanced orders through the official site where prices will increase once the initial run has been delivered. Those wishing to be part of this historic offering can visit the ordering page directly by visiting the online store at: http://shop.letstradecshells.com/Copper-Medallions_c2.htm.
Congratulations to Mr. Bob Barker and the entire Cape Cod area for taking a step toward financial security and sustainability. All those interested in joining the project are invited to use the “Contact Us” form on the site.
