AOCS premiers its new hard money token dispensers at the Crow Fair and Rodeo

Imagine putting fiat paper currency into vending machine and watching hard money come out. That’s just what attendees at the Apsáalooke Nation’s 95th Annual Crow Fair Celebration in Montana will experience August 15-19.

Coin of the Realm (COTR) will be premiering its new token vending machines at the event to introduce what will be the Nation’s new community currency. Step one is allowing event patrons to purchase the currency for use as tokens. The new vending machines streamlines the process of switching to a better and more stable currency.

Imagine one in ever grocery store.

With fiat currencies under pressure worldwide due to central bank inflation, there is a growing movement to introduce alternative currencies. In April Canadian entrepreneur and Bitcoin expert Jeff Berwick announced plans to install a Bitcoin ATM in San Diego. Swiss refinery Valcambi, a subsidiary of Newmont, recently introduced its “CombiBar,” a gold bar the size of a credit card that can be broken into 1 gram pieces for use as currency.

Gold vending machines have also sprung up in Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

COTR sees the trend as a huge positive, which demonstrates that enthusiasm for hard currencies is growing. The Crow Fair will be the starting point for what COTR hopes will eventually be widespread use of its token vending machines.

The Crow Fair Celebration is one of the largest gatherings of the year for the Apsáalooke Nation. The event has been called the “Teepee Capital of the World” due to the 1,200 to 1,500 teepees erected during the week long affair. The fair runs August 15-19 at Crow Agency, 60 miles south of Billings off of I-90 in Montana.

In addition to the new currency, the event will feature a host of cultural activities. There is an evening pow-wow, with grand entries to showcase the dance styles and beauty of the various tribes in attendance. There is also a daily parade in the morning, featuring traditional bead work, buckskin and leather work made especially for the event
