It's no secret how the AOCS Merchant MarketPlace grows so quickly. AOCS Silver works as a "barter" or "trade" Currency, compatible with nearly every trade exchange. Presently, there are thousands of Barter organizations across the country and millions of Merchants that actively trade goods and services with other Merchants through a conventional Trade Exchange. While the common trade exchange has its advantages, none presently match the legitimacy and transparency of the American Open Currency Standard. Therefore, AOCS Silver is highly respected as a barter "super" Currency, as it is recognized (either directly or indirectly) and exchanged in every barter network at Face Value. While navigating the Merchant Database, please take a moment to notice if a Merchant belongs to a particular trade exchange or if they directly accept AOCS Approved Currencies. If they do not accept "AOCS Approved" directly, the Merchant may request payment in their local trade Currency. If this is the case, the MarketPlace director or local Currency Officer will be happy to arrange a conversion. We are working diligently to ensure each Merchant listed in our database is familiar with the AOCS and how to exchange into and out of our Currency. If a Merchant has not yet been notified of our association, they may not yet be aware of the brokered relationship that allows them to accept AOCS Silver. When contacting a Merchant whose record does not indicate direct AOCS acceptance, you may want to ask a few important questions, starting with the following statement: "I notice you are listed as a Merchant that accepts _____[trade Currency Name]____,

What product or service do you offer on trade?
What is your procedure for accepting payment in trade?
Would you prefer payment in trade or Silver?
As you may be the first to contact the Merchant introducing the Silver Currency, it may be wise to visit the Merchant and show the physical difference with AOCS Silver. When the Merchant is aware of the advantage of AOCS Silver, please ask the Merchant to update their record on OpenCurrency.com so that others know the Merchant accepts Silver directly.
